IMR manufactures sensors and sensor systems for many industries. IMR Prescon™ sensors provide
a unique, cutting-edge technology to convert pressure and force to an electrical signal. They are
miniaturized, flat, lightweight, and flexible in the X, Y, and Z axis simultaneously, and have the ability
to measure the pressure of a feather, truck, hot engine oil pressure and many other applications. IMR sensor technology and products have proprietary and trade secret materials and processing. Our products also reduce customers’ needs for electronic feedback interpretation.

The products are named Prescon™ sensors and Prescon™ sensor systems. Prescon™ is a shortened form of “Pressure Conversion”. They are made by silk-screen printing electronic inks such as conductors, resistors and other proprietary inks onto thin sheets such as paper, plastic or most any other substrate. The sensors convert physical pressure to an electrical measurement in ohms. The sensors are similar to a water faucet in that by opening the valve the water flows faster; by increasing the pressure on a sensor, the ohms decrease, thus increasing the current flow through the sensor. IMR’s sensor technology can manufacture sensors with a linear ohmic response to pressure and force.

Our sensors are used in the manufacture of thick film hybrid circuits, thick film polymer circuits,
membrane switches, pressure sensors, smart cards, computers, automotive components, games and toys, industrial controls and components for robotics, medical, musical, sporting goods, audio-visual, military, and security systems applications.

The sensors have surpassed 100 million on-off cycles without failure. The sensors can operate from -60° C to +200° C. The sensors can be made rigid or flexible for almost any design application.
